The Accounting Supervisor / Business Analyst is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of accounting operations while combining strong financial and accounting knowledge with business process analysis. This position supports the Accounting Manager and executive leadership by analyzing financial and statistical data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement, evaluating business processes and requirements, and developing practical solutions that support operational goals and organizational growth.
The Accounting Supervisor / Business Analyst establishes and monitors departmental objectives and key performance indicators, develops and maintains effective policies and controls, and provides leadership and direction to accounting staff. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, solutions-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Supervise, develop, and provide leadership and direction to accounting staff and support departmental performance and operational goals.
- Establish departmental objectives and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Analyze financial, operational, and statistical data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and support strategic decision-making.
- Provide profitability and cost analysis by department, customer, project, job type, and other measures as requested.
- Develop, compile, analyze, and prepare accurate financial, statistical, and business reports for management and executive leadership.
- Support and oversee month-end and year-end close activities, including the preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation for the year-end audit process.
- Evaluate accounting and business processes, anticipate requirements, identify areas for improvement, and recommend and implement effective solutions.
- Lead ongoing reviews of processes and procedures to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness, accuracy, internal controls, and overall operational performance.
- Develop, implement, update, and maintain policies, procedures, controls, and documentation that safeguard company assets and support organizational excellence.
- Perform detailed requirements analysis and document processes, findings, recommendations, and results.
- Communicate financial insights, business needs, recommendations, and project plans effectively to management, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure proposed solutions meet identified business needs, financial objectives, and operational requirements.
- Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and organizational goals while monitoring deliverables and supporting the timely completion of projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve resource utilization and cost efficiency.
- Assist with user acceptance testing and the implementation of process or system improvements, as needed.
- Maintain accurate fiscal files, records, and supporting documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience
- 3 years’ experience as an accounting supervision
