The Customer Service Inside DME (Durable Medical Equipment) Sales Representative position is open at Carlisle Medical, Inc.  During the past 45 years, we have been proud to be a leader in helping our clients manage the needs of injured workers we serve.

Carlisle Medical, Inc., is a growth based, locally held company, providing services in the healthcare industry.  This is a remote work from home full time opportunity in Workers’ Compensation.

Summary:  As a Customer Service Inside Sales Representative, you will serve as a primary point of contact between clients (insurance companies and third-party administrators), injured workers and Carlisle Medical for all Durable Medical Equipment (DME) needs and concerns as well as periodically delivering DME to injured workers in the Birmingham, AL area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Review all documentation associated with referrals for correctness and completeness.
  • Obtain necessary information and documentation to implement referrals.
  • Processes orders for merchandise received by mail, telephone, fax e-mail or personally from customer or company employee.
  • Informs injured worker of services available to them to satisfy their needs.
  • Locate source of identified DME.
  • Write or type order forms and enter data into computer system.
  • Records or files copies of documentation received.
  • Receives, investigates and resolves customer complaints.
  • Compiles statistics and prepares various reports for management.
  • Answers questions from customers or individuals on issues or directs them to the person that is able to assist.
  • Maintains client and claimant information in various databases.
  • Ability to deliver durable medical equipment (DME) in the Birmingham, AL and surrounding areas.
  • Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); 2 years proven sales experience or 3 years of related experience and/or training preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
