Excellence in Caring: Janie

Released: 04/25/2017

Janie saw a DME request come in for some additional pads for a brace we were currently providing for one our claimants. This was requested by the injured worker and approved by the adjuster so the claimant could wash the pads while continuing to keep his injured appendage at the proper angle. Upon ordering the pads, Janie learned that the manufacturer was unable to provide the pads alone. Janie went about thinking of ways we could assist this injured worker and contacted the physician’s office with an idea. It just so happened that the injured worker was at the doctor’s office when called with an idea of providing him a sling to use temporarily while his pads were being washed. The doctor, nurse and the injured worker were all pleased with her solution and the doctor wondered why he had not thought of this himself. The adjuster working on this claim sent us the following feedback on Janie:

“Thank you so much for going above and beyond on this case. The fact that you thought outside of the box and came up with a solution instead of simply accepting the answer from the brace provider was wonderful. I loved getting the call from you this morning advising that you had been able to provide a solution for the claimant. What made it even better was that it was unsolicited from neither myself nor the claimant. You saw a need for a better answer and went after it! I so hope Carlisle knows how lucky they are to have you.”

Janie has been with Carlisle Medical for 2 years as a member of the DME Department.
