Carlisle Donates $16,500 to Penelope House

The 2016 fundraising efforts of the Carlisle Companies have been completed, culminating with a check for $16,500 presented to Penelope House. Throughout the the year, Carlisle’s staff has raised money through raffles, bake sales and other contributory events. Business partners in the community also provided donations of special raffle items and friends and customers outside of the company contributed, as well. These efforts raised approximately $8,000 by year’s end. Donnie and Deborah Carlisle upped and matched the amount raised and a check for $16,500 was presented to Tonie Ann Torrans, Executive Director of Penelope House.

The presentation was attended by Penelope House directors and friends, local Mobile officials and Carlisle staff. As Donnie made his presentation, he applauded the Carlisle staff for their caring efforts and pride in the community. Donnie also shared the important mission of Penelope House and the background of the partnership. His address was ended with, “We are just getting started!” Tonie Ann Torrans followed with her words of appreciation for the partnership with the Carlisle companies and how each associate’s contribution has made a difference.

The Carlisle Companies proudly support Penelope House, whose mission is “to provide safety, protection, and support to the victims of Domestic Violence and their children through the provision of shelter, advocacy and individual and community education.”
